Special Olympics
 "Let me win, or let me be brave in the attempt"On 17 December last year in Skopje, the founding assembly of the Special Olympics, which is now registered as a civic association, took place. This association was founded by a group of enthusiasts aiming to integrate people with intellectual disabilities in the social life. They will try to accomplish their goal through sports engagements of these people. |  |

"Friends to Macedonia"
Regional Democracy Camp - the Green City municipalityThe civic organization "Friends to Macedonia" organized the "Regional Democracy Camp - Green City municipality" for the second time. It took place at the boarding school "Boro Menkov" in Kriva Palanka form 13 to 22 January 2003. The goal of the camp was educate people how the local community functions through an interactive process of simulation.

Public Campaign "Together for Fresher Air"In the function of the preparation of a Law on air quality, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Skopje Office of the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe - REC, have started the public campaign called "Together for Fresher Air". The goal of this campaign is to include the public in the process of preparation of the text of this very important law document (in accordance with the Arhus Convention decisions, where public participation is one of the three key elements.

Evaluation of the influences on the environmentWithin the project "Support to the Macedonian Legal System by introducing international procedures for evaluation of the influences on the environment", financed by the Japanese Special Fund, on 22/23 January in Skopje, a meeting took place, discussing this problem. The projects has been implemented by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe - REC, and the meeting was attended by government and NGO representatives, representatives from the institutions and the business-sector. | |
Association of Turks "Chelebia"
Bitola, babam BitolaWithin the project Bitola, babam, Bitola, implemented by the Turks association "Chelebija" from Bitola, on 24 January this year a tribune called "Bitola Cultural Values" took place. Facilitators at the tribune were Mr. Gjuner Ismail and Mr. Ivan Dodovski. The tribune was organized in cooperation with the Youth Cultural Center from Bitola and it provoked a great interest. The focus of the discussion was placed upon the different cultural values of this town, especially the various ethnic cultures that its tissue consists of.

Local Self-Government
Meetings between the citizens and the delegates from electoral unit 1The Office for Communication between the citizens and the MPs who were candidates at the EU1 - Mr. Zoran Shapuric, Mr. Igor Ivanovski, Mrs. Karolina Ristova and Mrs. Blagorodna Mingova Krepieva, started operating at the Kisela Voda municipality. The MPs will answer citizens' questions every Monday from 12 to 5 pm and citizens, as well as the NGOs and associations can call the office on 02/779-069 and 02/779-073 and arrange a meeting with the MPs.
