Living Heritage Program
Workshop in the Old bazaar
The Workshop in the Old bazaar, which took place on 18 April this year, in the premises of the Chifte Amam and the House of craftsman, had an objective to gather all interested parties and to impel a common action and revitalization strategy in that place. The workshop is part of the project NIK “List”, within the Living Heritage Program, implemented in Macedonia by the King Boduen Foundation from Belgium and the Open Society Institute of Macedonia Foundation. In realization of this workshop, apart from these two foundations, the German foundation Conrad Adenauer also gave its contribution.

Support for the houses of culture
The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Blagoja Stefanovski and the executive director of the Open Society Institute of Macedonia Foundation, Mr. Vladimir Milchin, on 15 April this year signed a Protocol for cooperation within the OSIMF Program for supporting the houses of culture.

Gender concept and the media
On 18 April at the Deputes' Club in Skopje, he project, the Union of Macedonia Women Organizations (UMWO) organized a seminar for evaluating the media monitoring with journalists and editors from the press and electronic media in the Republic of Macedonia. The seminar was part of the project called " Women and the media".
Planet Earth Day
Education of the youngest
The International Planet Earth Day, dedicated to the natural resource - water, was traditionally marked in Macedonia. The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Mr. Ljubomir Janev, spoke about the importance of our environment and our relationship towards it, at the kindergarten "Prolet" and the French kindergarten. The children from these two kindergartens organized shows for their parents and other guests.

Diplomacy and diplomatic skills
“Diplomacy and Diplomatic skills – peaceful conflict resolution” was the topic of the conference which took place from 17 to 20 April in Ohrid, organized by the European Law Students Association.
- We consider that in our country, especially the young people are insufficiently informed on this subject. The actuality of diplomacy and the efforts to peaceful conflict resolution in our country, was the reason to organize a seminar on this subject – says Maja Kambovska from ELSA.

Civic counselling centres
The program “Civic counseling centres” for improving the socio-economic situation of the marginalized groups in the Republic of Macedonia, especially the Roma population, as well as better informing and strengthening citizens’ awareness of realizing their rights, should create an objective basis for influence on the authorities; contribution to overcoming the prejudices and negative stereotypization related to the marginalized groups in the Republic of Macedonia; creating educational personnel within the Roma population itself, which will produce conditions for the Roma and other citizens to be able to identify, manifest and ask for protection of their rights etc.
Eco-bus
A little different, much better
On the occasion of 22 April, the Planet Earth Day and within the project "Eco-Bus", the civic association "Proaktiva" from Skopje organized the promotion of two buses from the Public Transport Enterprise, driven on natural gas. The promotion took place on 19 April, under the motto "a little different, much better".

Public debate on the (long-distance) power line Macedonia - Bulgaria
On 16 April this year, at the Kriva Palanka town hall, "Electrostopanstvo" Macedonia organized a public debate on the construction of a new (long-distance) power line Macedonia - Bulgaria and the Study for evaluating the influence its construction and work will have on the environment.

...Six new projects
Within the Living Heritage Program, the third phase has started, where six project have been given support, directed towards development of communities through cultural heritage as a development resource.
