Diplomacy and diplomatic skills
“Diplomacy and Diplomatic skills – peaceful conflict resolution” was the topic of the conference which took place from 17 to 20 April in Ohrid, organized by the European Law Students Association.
- We consider that in our country, especially the young people are insufficiently informed on this subject. The actuality of diplomacy and the efforts to peaceful conflict resolution in our country, was the reason to organize a seminar on this subject – says Maja Kambovska from ELSA.
She informed us that 60 students of law and political studies from many countries took part at the seminar – Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo, Greece, the USA, Romania, Switzerland and Norway.
30 out of these 60 participants were from our country. The participants had a chance to listen to lectures by prominent diplomats, international representatives in the country and professors who they could ask questions. George Edgar, the British Ambassador, Aleksandar Miloshevic, the Croatian Ambassador, Prof. Tatjana Petrushevska from the Faculty of Law in Skopje, Eric Paul, high NATO officer, Bill Halog, USAID representative etc. had their expositions at the conference.
Kambovska says that because of the actuality of this topic, there is an interest to further continue with such and similar activities.
