Support for the houses of culture

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Blagoja Stefanovski and the executive director of the Open Society Institute of Macedonia Foundation, Mr. Vladimir Milchin, on 15 April this year signed a Protocol for cooperation within the OSIMF Program for supporting the houses of culture.

The Protocol projects implementation of pilot-activities in six selected houses of culture in Macedonia, in order to check the possibilities for implementing a new organization model of decentralized working.

The goal of these activities is to contribute to the process of decentralization in the sphere of culture. The activities will be implemented in cooperation with the mayors and representatives of the town councils, the Ministry of local self-government and the Local self-government Units Association. OSIMF puts at disposal $40.000, technical and human resources for these activities, which will be used for providing training, internet access, small grants and technical support.
