...Six new projects
Within the Living Heritage Program, the third phase has started, where six project have been given support, directed towards development of communities through cultural heritage as a development resource.
In Galichnik, there will be a project implemented, whose aim is to establish a Fund for sustainable development of Galichka wedding, by making and selling a traditional costume and musical instruments; in Vraneshnica, Kichevo, the pottery community will implement a project for modernization and popularization of this trade; in Malovishta, Bitola, revitalization will be initiated of the muftia, weaving and carpentry and the products will be sold in the village and wider; in Mariovo (Staravina and Gradeshnica) there will be a children’s camp called “Itar Pejo”, so that the children, their teachers and the wider public can get familiar with this character and the other cultural and natural values of Mariovo; in the Radovish villages Alikodz and Kodzalija, the community of Juruks will popularize its traditional values, by forming and presenting a folk ensemble and an exhibition of traditional handicraft products; in the Center for physically handicapped children in Banja Bansko, Strumica, there will be wood-carving training and the products will be placed wider. Within this program it is expected two more projects to be supported. The projects of the Live Heritage Program are implemented in small communities (up to 25.000 citizens). So far, in Macedonia, 19 projects have been supported by this program.
