Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning
Eco-caravan travels through Macedonia
On 28 September 2003, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning organized a great party and an environmental action at the city square in Skopje, inviting the citizens from Skopje to ride their bikes. They organized a cycling tour through Skopje, which marked the European Day without cars.
This action is part of the project "Strengthening the Ministry of Environment Capacities" the realization of which is supported by the European Union, through the European Agency for Reconstruction. Within this project, the Ministry is organizing an Eco-caravan, which is in fact a moving office for communication with the public. The eco-caravan started this summer and it continues its journey through Macedonia with the logo: "Do you know how green you are?". It will travel till mid-October 2003 and it by then it will have passed through 16 towns and villages where it will promote the new legal projects in the field of environment and the three basic campaigns: for the national parks, for use of bicycles as alternative in the traffic and for using unleaded petrol.
