The awards for best investigative story presented
For the sixth time in a row, the Macedonian Institute for Media has presented the award for the best investigative story for texts published in 2006.
The first prize for an investigative story in 2006 went to Svetlana Darudova, a journalist at “Dnevnik”, for the series of texts called “At the special institute Demir Kapija”. The second prize was awarded to Erdem Ahmet, a journalist in the Turkish desk at MTV, for the TV report “The forgotten children from the village of Gaber, Karbinci”. Redzep Torte, a journalist at “Fakti” received the third award for the series of texts “The story about Bujare Veliu”.
33 journalists with 48 stories took part in the competition, whose goal is to encourage and promote the investigative journalism in the Macedonian electronic and printed media.
Besides the first three prizes, two certificates of gratitude ere awarded to the journalists Jordanka Ivanovska and Zaklina Gjorgjevikj from the daily newspapers “Dnevnik” and “Utrinski Vesnik”. The selection of the best investigative stories for 2006 was made by the commission consisting of: Katerina Blazevska (Dnevnik), Katerina Spasovska (Lobby), Sanja Vasikj (Telma TV), Emin Azemi (Fakti) and Konstantin Testorides (Associated Press).
The awards are in form money. The presentation of the awards was organized and financed by the Macedonian Institute for Media with partial support from the Conrad Adenauer Foundation.
