4 June: In memory of the war victims
The international day dedicated to the victims of the wars should remind us that in wars there are no winners. It is an occasion for commemorative events, but also for protests against the wars and the war crimes everywhere in the world.
5 June: The Earth is our only home
The world day dedicated to the environment should remind us of fragility and the links that exist between all living creatures on the planet. The eco-systems are what our world is made of and we should all cherish it.
8 June: World Oceans’ Day
The oceans are the oldest eco-systems on the Planet Earth. Today, they are in danger of the pollution, the excessive fishing, the global warming. Their welfare is the condition of this planet’s survival.
14-15 June: Regional NGO Fair in Negotino
The Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia and the NGO Support Center from Negotino, on behalf of the Macedonian Civic Platform, organize the regional NGO Fair in Negotino. It will take place on 14 and 15 of June 2007 at The Park Hotel. Participants can be all civil society organizations from Macedonia and the neighboring countries.
17 June: Fight against draughts and floods
The draughts and the floods have become part of the everyday life in the past few years, even of the countries that have not been directly faced with them so far. The spreading of the deserts and the occurrence of floods is not a natural phenomenon – they are conditioned by the human behavior.
20 June: World Refugee Day
The United Nations Organization dedicated this day to the refugees, the people who were forced to abandon their homes and still wander through the world trying to fight for their right to live by their heathens.
29 June: River Danube Day
Danube, the biggest river in Europe is called the bloodstream of the oldest continent. The protection of the natural conditions, as well as the cultures and the historic marks of its basin mean protection of the European heritage.
