A decade of Dnevnik and BBC in Macedonian

 
“Dnevnik”, the first independent daily newspaper, set up by a group of young journalists from Macedonia, celebrated the first decade of its work on 20 March with a celebration and theatre show. The money from the tickets will be donated in humanitarian goals. Among the figures and facts which marked the ten-year anniversary of the paper are the 120 million sold copies, that is 3, 016 issues.

Ten years ago, the BBC World Service opened the editorial board in Macedonian language. At the same time, it was the First BBC service broadcasted via satellite to the local radio stations. The decade of BBC in Macedonian means over 2,500 hours of programme broadcasted. The board prepares news several times a day, as well as different programme, reports from the world, music, lessons in English, etc. It is located in London has a staff of about 10 journalists, all Macedonians and several correspondents from Macedonia. BBC in Macedonian is one of the most listened programmes in Macedonian, not only in our country, but also among the Macedonian immigrants in the whole world.
