Self-employment in a personal business
The civil society association “Junior Achievement”, financed by the European Union and managed by the European Agency for Reconstruction as part of the CARDS programme for pilot-projects that support the self-employment policy, has realized the project “Self-employment in a personal business”, which has so far been implemented in Ohrid, Bitola, Stip, Kumanovo and Gostivar.
The free training courses that are part of the project, have been attended by 150 young, unemployed people who are intending to start their own business, or are in the phase of registering personal businesses. In the first three month of this year, the trainings will be carried out in Skopje, and in April, they will be realized in Tetovo. The participants are not required to have any previous knowledge on how businesses function, since they are attending lectures of university professors from the Economic Institute in Skopje, who, transfer their knowledge for gaining experience for running personal business through a specially designed programme, providing advice for the newly-established businesses in the duration of three years. After the training has been completed, the participants will get the right to apply for a credit from the programmes’ credit fund.
The goal of the project “Self-employment in a personal business” is development of the entrepreneurship spirit among the young unemployed Romas, Albanians and Macedonians so that they are given hope and knowledge for starting a personal business. Partners in the implementation of the programme are: FIOOM, The Economic Institute from Skopje in cooperation with the civil society organizations Youth Council – Ohrid, “Sonce” – Tetovo, “DROM” – Kumanovo, “Luludi” – Skopje, “Norma – F” – Skopje, “Bairska Svetlina” – Bitola, “Romani Asvin” – Stip and the Centre for Permaculture and Peace-building – Gostivar.
