The political parties in the focus of the “vote for the nature” campaign

The politicians will be asked questions of major national interest

The Macedonian Green Centre (MGC) together with its partner – the Dutch foundation “Millieukontakt” has promoted the “vote for the nature” campaign in which the politicians will be asked a number of questions regarding the environmental care. MGC’s mission is to promote concrete democratic tools that will enable citizens to take active part in the democratic and transparent decision-making processes and raise their understanding on the environmental issues as an important pol9itical subject in Macedonia. The campaign will be implemented on national level and the NGOs like Ekosvest, Proaktiva, Eko-net, Biosfera, Krste Jon and Green Power will be realising it on local level in six regions in the country. The campaign will be carried out through public events and meetings and its activities will be promoted through printed materials. For that purpose MGC prepared posters, fliers, aromatic refreshers for cars, glass pads, etc. The voters will be advised to ask the parties what they think of the four major environmental issues: the Ohrid lake protection, the energy, the waste management and the accomplishment of the obligations EU has imposed on us. In the campaign the green coalition will initiate debates among the politicians on the abovementioned issues, and they will also analyse the political programmes, especially the parts regarding the environment.
