Seven organizations have established
A Think-Thank Network
On 12 June 2007, the Think-Thank Network - Macedonia was established as a result of the several-month initiative of seven organizations. The promotional debate for marking the beginning of the network’ operation was called “The role of think-thanks in making the public policies in the Republic of Macedonia.
“Think-thanks are organizations that do research, provide qualified advice and propose solutions in the field of pubic policies. The idea of networking seven organizations comes from the need to distinct the think-thanks from the other organizations. The think-thanks in Macedonia and in the world need institutional support”, says Gordan Georgiev, representative of the Forum-Center for Strategic Research and Documentation. “It is often said that the think-thanks are a bridge between the ideas presented at the universities and the ideas that are later implemented in the real politics. Think-thank activities are directed towards the general public, in a paradoxical way, their activities are directed towards the donors, that is, they are given opportunities to invest”, said Georgiev.
The goal of this networking is promoting the think-thank as an institution, raising the capacity of work, joint presentation for strategic projects of larger extent, confirming the role of our organizations in policy making policies and generally, raising the awareness on the influence and the role of our institutions in the social currencies.
The founders of the think-thank network – Macedonia are: “Analitika MK”, The Democratic Institute “Societas Civilis”, The Institute for Economic Strategies and International Relations – OHRID, Studiorum – Center for Regional Research and Cooperation, FORUM – Center for Strategic Research and Documentation, The Center for Economic Analyses (CEA) and The Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM).
