Aleksandar Trpeski

I apply the ten commandments

Professional experience: Eleven years of working experience, six of which as a mechanical engineer. After graduation, from 2001 to 2005 employed in “AGP Zastava BE-PO” – Ohrid, as a non-executive technologist constructor. Since 2006 I have been the president of the Macedonian Quality Organization.

Engagement in the civil sector: Participation in the organizational structure of the students in the Students’ House “Goce Delcev”. From 1997 to 1998 president of the cultural life within the tenants’ council of the students’ house. Member of the Ohrid Consumers’ Organization and the Literary Association “Zivko Cingo”.

Hobbies and interests: Advancement of knowledge in the field of quality in Integrated Management Systems, cognition of human soul, getting familiar with the Christian philosophy, writing poetry and prose, sports, music, climbing etc.

Toughest decision: To start applying the Ten Commandments in the everyday life, as consistently as possible.

Ambitions: Contributing in the advancement of culture for quality by promoting the role and importance of quality, promoting education for quality.

In his free time he reads: e-Quality, a magazine from the field of quality and other literature from the field of TQM – total quality management, daily-informative newspapers, humor, poetry, prose, the Bible.

Where does he go in his free time?  I enjoy watching the Ohrid Lake, walking, cycling or drinking coffee in a good company. I play Swedish whist (queen of the cards games), backgammon, billiards. In summer there are lots of cultural manifestations and concerts in Ohrid, so I regularly visit most of them.

At weekends: I would like to get familiar with Macedonia as much as I can, so when possible, I visit different locations throughout Macedonia (the Prespa Lake, the Mavrovo Lake, Kuklica near Kratovo, Stobi, the National Park Galicica etc).

Which national/local problem does he find especially important and why? In the Republic of Macedonia the need for quality improvement of products, services, working conditions and increasing the human health security, environmental protection etc, is necessary for increasing the competition of Macedonian companies and improving the standard of living. For that purpose Macedonian companies need to be impelled to employ and complete the education of quality managers that will apply others’ experiences for total quality management in domestic conditions.

What would he change in Macedonia and the world? From the so far life experience I know that you can change nobody, but you can only help he/she change himself/herself. This also applies to learning, you cannot teach anyone, but you can only help him/her to learn.

Therefore I try as much as I can to be tolerant, patient, merciful, humanitarian etc., to make good deeds so that I can expect the others around me do the same.

Advice / message: To make a difference between the term ‘quality’ and the term ‘standard’. Improving the quality of products and services can be achieved through various standards. It is possible only with continuous quality improvement.

I could never: Not love.
