King Baudouin Foundation

Two decades of work on cultural heritage

The Belgian Foundation King Baudouin (FKB) has had a special celebration – 20 years since the launch of its first campaign for cultural heritage. During the summer, at the King’s Palace in Brussels, the Foundation organized an exhibition where 4.000 projects from the field of cultural heritage were presented, protected or promoted through Foundation’s activities and sponsored by a series of public and private donors.

Cultural heritage was one of the topics in which KBF was engaged during its work. The Foundation was established in 1976, on the occasion of 25 years reign of the Belgian king Baudouin. Since then, it has been working in Belgium and internationally, with special focus on Southeast Europe and the relations of Europe and transatlantic regions. In the realization of its mission – to work for a better society, the Foundation is engaged in the fields of migrations and multicultural society, poverty and social justice, civic society: health, philanthropy and it is especially focused on the Balkans and Central Africa. More information about the work of the Foundation can be found on the website: www.kbs-frb.be.
