OSCE- Blossom Run

Running manifestation for peace

Organized by OSCE and under the patronage of the Macedonian President Mr. Boris Trajkovski, on 18 May this year, the traditional 42-kilometre "Blossom Run" Tetovo-Skopje took place. This manifestation took place for the first time in 1995 and this year it was held for the seventh time in a traditional sport and humanitarian spirit. As OSCE spokesperson, Mr. Wolfgang Greven said, the race is one big peaceful demonstration and a proof that it is possible that people from different nationalities work and have fun together.
This year, more than 800 people, that is 42 teams of 20 participated in the race, among which were representatives from domestic and international civic organizations, governmental and intergovernmental agencies, as well as representatives from foreign embassies and institutions in the country. The first to arrive to the finish in Skopje was the City of Skopje team. This was their third victory in the history of this race for promotion of peace and understanding.

Money raised from the race will be given to the associations of children with cerebral paralysis from Skopje and Tetovo and the Association of Children with impaired sight.
