SID FORUM - Macedonia
Youth clubs in Skopje and Tetovo
On 22 February and 10 March 2006, the civil society association Forum SID - Macedonia officially opened the youth clubs in Skopje and Tetovo. “The clubs are open to give all young people a chance to realize their affinities and creativity,”, said Mrs. Tomsik – Stojkovska from Forum SID.
The activities will be focused on raising the level of tolerance and mutual living in the multi-ethnic environments, which is to be accomplished through organizing various workshops to meet the needs of the young people in the municipality, such as: healthy lifestyles, developing social skills, creativity, art, tolerance, non-violence, photo shops as well as theme-oriented activities and debates. The opening of the two youth clubs has been done in cooperation with the local government.
“The municipalities Karpos and Tetovo have provided free space where we can set up the clubs”, says Tomsik – Stojkovska. Over 200 people have used the services of both clubs so far. Some of them are students from the Forum SID’s university course.
The project has been financed by the Swedish Development Agency – SIDA.
Forum SID invites all interested young people to visit the youth clubs, which are located in 2 Fjodor Dostoevski Street (LC Vlae 2) in Skopje and the administration barrack of Tetovo municipality (next to the Tetovo municipality headquarters).
