Student symposium – Euro Enviro 2007 “Eco-tourism – in search for the hidden natural treasures”   Under the motto “Eco-tourism – in search for the hidden natural treasures, the European environmental symposium - Euro Enviro 2007, took place in the beginning of May in Skopje. It is an annual meeting of students from different countries in Europe who share the common interest of protecting the environment. The goal of the symposium, which was attended by about 70 participants, was to promote the dialogue, the exchange and the cooperation between the academic and industrial partners, with special focus on the eco-tourism in Macedonia and the promotion of the hidden treasures of our country. The participants visited the canyon of Matka, Tetovo, Mavrovo, Vevcani, Ohrid, and several workshops took place in Skopje, Tetovo and Ohrid. The students had the chance to discuss together and express their opinions on the condition with the environment in their countries.  Part of the discussions were the university professors, civil society associations and others working in the field of environment and the eco-tourism. A document was prepared offering concrete proposals for promoting the eco-tourism in Macedonia. The European Environmental Symposium was organized by the civil society association “Mladite za mladite” in partnership with the City of Skopje, the European Commission Office in Macedonia, the Agency for Young and Sports and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.   S.N.
