Efforts to Launch a Second Decade for Human Rights Education Underway
The Summer University on Human Rights (SUHR), the International Organization for the Right to Education (OIDEL), Soka Gakkai International, along with a few other Geneva-based NGOs have come together in support of Government of Costa Rica's initiative to sponsor a new resolution of the UN Commission on Human Rights aimed at launching a second Decade for Human Rights Education from 2005 to 2014. The main objective of the Decade would be to promote a broader view of human rights education and consider integrating it into the global UN agenda.

Cottonwood Foundation: Small Grants for Empowerment, Environment and Cultural Diversity
The Cottonwood Foundation is offering small grants (1000$) in area of empowerment, environment and cultural diversity. The foundation focuses its funding on committed, grass roots organizations internationally that relay strongly on volunteer efforts and where foundation support will make a significant difference.

IT technology introduces new, cheap and effective ways for civil society organizations to reach ordinary citizens who want to support worthy causes but don’t have money, energy or simply time to get involved. First, internet offers civil society organizations a new and interactive way for presenting themselves through establishing web-sites with information about themselves, their programmes and activities.
