An award for organizing a number of humanitarian activities

The City of Skopje Red Cross received the award “13th September”

This year, the award “13th November” went to the City of Skopje Red Cross, for organizing a number of humanitarian activities in the area of Skopje in 2005.

The award was given to this organization for the realized projects, most of which were dedicated to the vulnerable categories of citizens, for improving the life of the socially handicapped population, for providing living standards for the young people and providing peaceful and safe life in the metropolis. Suzana Tuneva – Paunovska, a secretary at the Red Cross City Committee, says that the award “13th November” is a finalization of everything that has been done this year in order to accomplish the humanitarian organization’s mission. She emphasizes that the organization is very proud of the award, bearing in mind the fact that out of 50 organizations that applied, the winners are only 4, amongst which is the Red Cross. At the same time, the award is seen as an additional motive and obligation to continue the same course. “The Red Cross” is part of all social happenings in the city whose goal is to remain independent and non-biased and to operate within the frame of the international Red Cross codes. This is an additional motive for attracting people’s interest to become part of the organization’s human mission in future and to dedicate part of their spare time volunteering for the Red Cross”, says Tuneva – Paunovska.
