“Living Heritage” programme

Another natural rarity of Macedonia will be promoted in May through the “Living Heritage” programme – the wonderful Mokrino Izvori. They are located near the village Mokrino, Strumica and with their amazing beauty they mesmerize everyone who saw them: they spring out of the roots of hundreds of years old plane trees and entwine on the surface.

The local community of the village Mokrino, in cooperation with the civil society association “Izvor” and the municipality Novo Selo are implementing a project for arranging the space near the Mokrino Izvori – they have made a stone path, benches, eaves and other infrastructure. They are also planning to prepare some promotional material. The “Living Heritage” Programme is implemented by Open Society Institute – Macedonian Foundation and the King Bouduen Foundation from Belgium. Its goal is to promote the local development through the cultural heritage.
