Exhibition and discussion
Women activists cross the borders
At the cultural center “Tocka” in Skopje (38 Ilindenska Street) there is an exhibition of black and white art photographs – portraits of women and children by the French photographer Philip Barsin. The exhibition is called “Women activists in action for crossing the borders” and it is part of the same-called project, the goal of which is to promote women activism in the creation of peace, stability and coexistence in the Balkan region.
Within the project, at the same location, on 1 October, a debate took place on “Where does the patriotism stop, and where does the nationalism begin?”
This project, the part of which was also the women caravan that visited the places of conflict and hope in ex-Yugoslavia, is implemented in Macedonia by the Open Society Institute Macedonia Foundation and the French organization Transeuropean. Transeuropean, together with the local partners is implementing the three-years’ project in the ex-Yugoslav republics and in Albania. The project is financially supported by the European Union, the French Foreign Office and Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
