History of the civil society

One year of the NGO infocentre

The NGO infocentre celebrated the first year of its work. In the past 12 months it became an important and recognizable connection between the media and the civil organizations, providing their more intensive cooperation and better understanding. In this period, over 100 civil organizations held public events, presentations, press-conferences and other kinds of representations in the premises of the Centre. At the same time, the employed at the Centre offered services for a large number of CA, informing the media for their activities.

Its first anniversary the NGO infocentre celebrated in a working atmosphere, organizing the presentation on the subject “Why does Macedonia need the nongovernmental centre?” which was held on 21st December 2004, on the premises of the centre. On this popular theme, for which a lot of media showed interest, covering the event, talked Vladimir Milcin, executive director of the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia (FOSIM), Darko Aleksov from the Civil organization Most and Biljana Bejkova from the NGO infocentre. At the presentations, the results from the media coverage of the last NGO Fair in Skopje were also presented.

However, the work of the NGO infocentre is supported by FOSIM and by the Swiss development agency. The centre is situated in Skopje, on the address block 8 Gradski zid, and the contacts can be made on the telephone 02/3233-560 and on the e-mail contact@nvoinfocentar.org.mk.
