New project of the "21st Century Woman"

Women Multiethnic Literary Centre

The Kumanovo Women Centre "21st Century Woman" started implementing the project "Women multiethnic literary centre", supported by the foundation Interethnic Project - Kumanovo (IPK).

It has a goal to promote the interethnic dialogue and cooperation in the municipalities Kumanovo and Lipkovo through a wide range of civil society projects. The project should enable cultural development of women from Kumanovo and the region, as well as building women networks by introducing them to the literary work of the opposite entity. The "Women Multiethnic Literary Centre" should be formed in several phases: opening a library within the Women Centre, supplying it with a book fund of various contents and languages, most of the books should be written in the languages of all entities that live in the above-mentioned region. Thus, the region and wider will get the first multiethnic library with a database of the availability of literature, whose focus of interest is the woman. The second phase will consist of implementation of activities for popularising the Centre as a place where women, members of the library can borrow books. The third phase should establish a mechanism for continuous work of the Centre by assigning a person who will be in charge of the library functioning.
