Strengthening Civil Society in the Balkans

The third Partnership meeting of the Capacity Building Hub network took place in Feketic near Novi Sad, Serbia and Montenegro between 19-21 December, 2003. The meeting was held at the Leunberg home, training facilities of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO), the host of the meeting. Seven out of 13 partner organizations came together to work out a plan of action for their activities in 2004.

Capacity-Building Hub is a network of 13 church-related and civil society organizations from 6 countries and territories in South East Europe (Albania-Diaconia Agepas, Albanian Civil Society Foundation, Bulgaria-WAD, Pokrov Foundation, Croatia-NIT, EOS, Macedonia-MCIC, Romania-AIDRom, Opportunity Associates, Serbia and Montenegro (including Kosovo)-EHO, Philanthropy, We are With You. The network aims at fostering the co-ordination and networking of capacity-building activities on the one hand, and utilize that resource with the civil society organizations and ecumenical partners in the SEE, as a contribution to lasting peace and stability in the region. The network fosters relevant, effective, accessible, affordable and sustainable package of capacity building services.
