Building Bridges Project

AIESEC marked the Tolerance Day

The youth organization AIESEC marked this year’s Tolerance Day on 21 May at the high school “Orce Nikolov” in Skopje, as part of the project “Building Bridges”. The Tolerance Day was an opportunity for the high school students to express their ideas and opinions in different ways, as well as the new knowledge they gained through the work with trainees from eight different countries and cultures. The event was marked with performances of eight schools from Skopje, which, in a very creative way, expressed the importance of the tolerance in the everyday life and in a wider context. Through songs, dances, speeches, plays and slide-presentations, the students managed to remind the visitors in a very impressive way of the diversity which characterizes the world and the need from tolerance.

“This is a really exciting event for us and a good way to express our creativity. We would like such events to take place more often”, were the words of some of the students from the Music and Ballet High School “Ilija Nikolovski – Luj” from Skopje who participated in the project.

In the past two months, through the workshops and the lectures, the trainees did their best to contribute towards raising the general awareness in RM on certain issues.

On the Tolerance Day, the trainees also had the opportunity to present their countries and cultures. Next to the national flags of Australia, Austria, India, Japan, Norway, Poland, Romania and Holland stood the national dishes, music, leaflets, etc., which gave a special mark to the celebration and were an interesting challenge for the visitors.
