Holidays are a good time to get things better
A man used to buy three loaves of bread every day. The shop assistant wondered that he always bought exactly three, neither more nor less, so one day he decided to ask him. “One for the past, one for the present and one for the future”, said the man. Not understanding what he wanted to say, the shop assistant looked at him with confusion. “One is for my parents, they are the past, one is for me and my wife, we are the present, and one is for my children, they are the future”, answered the man.
What are you doing regarding the past, present and future?
The last month of the year is a month of recapitulations: where we have started from, what we have done and where we have reached. It is normal for the end of the year, in the end we all want to see the results of the untiring race with life. What we will see depends on the past, on how much we did in the previous year (and the years before that). To reconsider our plans once again, to see how we will realize them next year and the years after.
After that to make recapitulation on ourselves. Private. How much luck last year brought and how much it took away; how many friends we made and how many we lost running after many other things; how many times we made happy and how many times we made sad the faces that meant so much to us…
Yes, recapitulations are very necessary. To see where we are and where we are going to. Let’s put on the scales what we received and what we lost, let’s count up, let’s work out…As the new 2008 is coming and we should enter it prepared, to know where we are.
December and January are months of holidays, feasts, name-days, New Year…Holidays are always a good time to get things better, at least those on a personal plan. To be together with the ones we couldn’t, to forgive, to get happier…
During the holidays and not only then think about the past, the present, the future. Think about those who have sacrificed for you, think about yourself, you are the most important in the world and think about the future, it is your investment. Think also about those who might not be so close to you but are in trouble, open your hearts and help them the best you can.
Celebrate, have a rest, you deserve it.
I wish you a happy and successful 2008 and holidays filled with friendship, warmth and joy.
