Spring days, ecology days

A Green Book opened

The first day of spring, 21 March was traditionally marked with eco-events at several locations. Kindergartens, primary schools and high schools organized actions for cleaning their gardens and planting new trees, which were a present from the Ministry of Environment. The children organized masquerades with motives from the nature, exhibitions of drawings, eco-classes and they recited poems about the sun, the nature and the animals. Eco-actions were also organized by the municipalities in Skopje, and at the Macedonia Square, the NGO Forum put up a Green Book for ideas and comments concerning the environment. The Mayor of Skopje, Trifun Kostovski signed it first, followed by the young people with their eco-messages, banners and spring masks reminding their parents to care more about the environment.

An action for cleaning the City Park was organized as well, and the mayor Kostovski and the Chinese Ambassador planted some trees in the central part of the park. The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Branko Crvenkovski visited the Tolerance Park, where he met over two hundred children with special needs, and together they attended the manifestation “All our children are fighters”. He and the diplomatic representatives in our country, planted different trees in the park, typical for the parts of the world they come from.
