8 March: International Women’s Day
The International Women’s Day is dedicated to the fight for emancipation and equal rights of women in the world. Although in some places this “battle” has already been fought, there are many other parts of the world where it still goes on. This day is another way to mark the importance of women in the society and a call for equal treatment of sexes.
21 March: Spring days, ecology days
The day when spring officially begins is also the day when the campaign for environmental protection and promotion of the ecological way of thinking in our country begins. A few years ago, the newspaper “Nova Makedonija” started this initiative, and today it is accepted as a broad action of the civil sector, the schools and the other parts of society.
22 March: International Water’s Day
On this day we remind ourselves on the resource which means life, and which we have less and less. The water is disappearing as a natural resource in many parts of the world, which is due to the global warming, the extension of the deserts and other causes, or it becomes polluted and undrinkable or unusable for other purposes. This is day for action for protection of the eco-system, which is one of the most important on our planet.
