I am completing my professional call at the civic sector
Professional experience: Thirty-three-year engagement as a bookkeeper, despite my University Degree in Social Work.
Engagement in the civil sector: I have started my engagement in the civil sector in the ‘80’s as an activist of the then women organizing KOPAZ. After the transformation that took place in 1990, I have been member of the Women Organization from Sveti Nikole as an activist and president. Through my fifteen-year engagement in the organization, together with the other women-member, we managed to accomplish good results. WO Sveti Nikole managed to act upon an intervention in the Law on Health Care to introduce gynecological check-ups for women. At the same time, through the work in the civil sector, I am completing my professional call which I haven’t been able to practice in my regular job.
Ambitions: There is no place for self-satisfaction. Continuous perfection, acquiring new knowledge and experiences of different kind.
Hobbies and interests: Together with my husband, we took up beekeeping as a hobby, which has eventually grown up to be a good, family business.
In her free time she reads: Any good book.
At weekends: I start the weekend with a morning coffee with my family and the neighbours, part of my time is dedicated to my granddaughter and, if I don’t have any special engagement, I spend the time at the beehive yard.
Toughest decision: So far, I haven’t been categorizing the decisions as tough or easy, but right or wrong.
Which national (local) problem does she find especially important: Local, but very important problem for my co-citizens is the drinking water. For more than two years, the use of the water which comes from the water-supply system in Sveti Nikole has been banned. Therefore, we may come to the relation: unhealthy drinking water – an increased number of malignant diseases in the Sveti Nikole municipality, which has, of course, not been examined or proved yet.
Which global problem does she find especially important and why?: The violence, the terrorism and the military conflicts because they inhibit the progress.
What would she change in Macedonia and in the world: If I could, I would reduce the unemployment for better socio-economic condition and welfare.
Advice (message): Life is one, so enjoy every new day.
