Right for accessing information of public character

Instructions for obtaining information and strengthening the awareness
 

On 16 September 2006, the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia organized a meeting attended by 123 subjects – public information seekers got instructions on how to realized their right for obtaining this type of information. The seekers will submit their requests to those who have (own) the information on local level.

The purpose of this type of training is to measure the degree of implementation of the Law for free access to public information. The report from the monitoring will be promoted in public by the end of this year. This is just one of the FIOOM activities they realized to promote the right for accessing the public information and for implementing the Law that regulates this right. The Foundation has also inserted printed leaflets for promoting the right and strengthening the citizens’ awareness into several daily newspapers.
