  Local self-government

IN DEBAR

Center for Citizens Information Opened

The director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Mr. Stephen Haynes, in the beginning of February this year in Debar opened the ninth Center for Citizens Information in Macedonia. He emphasized that these centers in Macedonia, as well as in other countries from the region, have great significance for the local authorities organs’ transparency.

The mayor of Debar, Mr. Imer Ologu said that this was another new project being realized by the Debar local authorities in cooperation with the USAID and that it contributed to the reformations within the local self-government.
The Center will inform citizens about all activities of the local self-government, about the work of the local NGOs, international projects, regional fairs and exhibitions, etc. The USAID technically supported the opening of the Center, and the local authorities provide the space and the finances for the employees.
So far, such centers have been opened in Gostivar, Stip, Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Veles, Skopje, Bitola and Tetovo.
