Consider the transparency

A couple of days ago, a lady engaged by one of the international agencies working in Macedonia asked for some statistic data regarding the civic sector in Macedonia, such as: How many civic organizations are there in Macedonia? I gave her the information that the MCIC has, those that are part of the Address Book of Civic Organizations in Macedonia. Having seen the information she remained bewildered by the number our civic sector operates with. When we started gathering the data about the latest, seventh edition of the Address Book, we faced with more than 5000 civic organizations in the central register.

Is the civic sector in Macedonia big? , However, the number of organizations registered as associations, is only one of the components that point to the size of the civic sector. The second component, the one that has to do with the contents would best answer the question: What do the civic associations actually do. And, eventually, the third one we should take into account is the transparency of their work.

A number of activities of fundamental importance to the vitality of the sector are still ahead of us. In order to have the public on our side for them, we must publicly present our results.

Therefore, enjoy yourself on your summer holidays and think about the transparency of your work.
