“Global protection of the Earth

On the occasion of 16 September, the International day for protection of the ozone layer, a brochure called “Global protection of the Earth” by the author Gore Cenev, member of the Macedonian Research Association, was promoted in Skopje. The publication of this brochure is part of the National Campaign for raising the public awareness on the reduction of substances which impoverishes the ozone lawyer in everyday life.

The impoverishment of the layer from 400 or 450 units to 200 units at certain points, creates the ozone holes that are most noticeable from September to December and reach a size of 25 million square kilometers which equals the area of South Africa. The biggest cause for creation of the ozone lawyer is the emission of saturated carbohydrates, chalones containing chloride, brome and fluoride atoms, substances used when extinguishing fires, or in the industry, agriculture and the oil industry. According to Cenev, by putting the Montreal Protocole into force, which is also part of the brochure, the emission of the harmful influences of these compounds is reduced, which on the other hand results in minimum increase of the hole in the last few years. The brochure “Global protection of the Earth” includes the Framework Convention on Climate Changes, The Kyoto Protocol, The Vienna Convention and the Stockholm Convention on POPs.
