5 June: World Environment Day

Traditionally, the World Environment Day announced by UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), is dedicated to the global environmental problems of our mutual home – the Planet Earth. It is an occasion to call for the human consciousness again – and leave the planet as a good heritage for the future generations.

8 June: Oceans’ Day

The day dedicated to the oceans and the seas is the one when we are reminded of the ecological connection of our planet – even those countries that do not have an exit to the sea can contribute with their activities to their degradation. To protect the oceans means to protect every tiny part of our planet.

11 June: Fight against drought and floods

Every year, the droughts and the floods take thousands of lives, destroy the environment and do a massive material damage. The day dedicated to the fight against these degrading phenomena should remind us that they are not always caused by the nature, but to a large extent by people, as well.

29 June: Danube Day

The biggest river in Europe with its huge basin is degraded and polluted in certain parts. However, the countries that belong to the Danube basin take a number of actions for the protection of River Danube and its green valley. The Danube Day a manifestation for raising the public awareness for protection of this big river.
