Tose Proeski (1981-2007)
Humanity opened him hearts to thousands of people
The death of the music star Tose Proeski in the country spread as tragic news among the citizens who received his leave with big pain crying in the streets, writing in the newspapers, creating a network of his fans on the internet, recording his songs in their mobile phones…
One of his virtues that together with his voice opened him a big road to people’s hearts, regardless of their sex, age, ethnicity, was the power to whole-heartedly give and help. He was an extraordinary humanitarian, nominated for UNICEF regional ambassador of good will in 2004, a rare music star that held many concerts with profit aimed at solving chronic problems, such as the reconstruction of the Clinic for Children’s Diseases in Skopje, whose biggest donor in the organizational campaign was he personally.
He took part in humanitarian actions for collecting blood, for helping senior citizens and his donation activities coincided with the modern understanding of the term citizen of these times, regardless of the fact that Krusevo was his birth town and Skopje a place where he spent a significant part of his life. He dedicated his last humanitarian concert to collecting funds for reconstruction of 100 primary schools in Macedonia and a lot of people will, unfortunately, remember it as the last meeting with the great young man whom the state and the citizens saw off with deserved attention.
