MIA and UNDP campaign
Bullets don’t make a difference
UNDP and MIA have promoted a project for raising the public awareness on the risk of shooting guns at celebrations. “Stop the shooting! Bullets don’t make a difference” is the working title of the campaign against weapons, which started with promotional videos, fliers and posters.
“Shooting guns at celebrations is a form of anti-social behavior that threatens the public security”, say MIA and UNDP representatives. The goal of the campaign is to change such behavior. At the same time, they send an appeal to the citizens and to everyone possessing fire guns to respect the law, to consider the potential risks of the uncontrolled shooting at celebrations and to inform the police about every incident.
Eight people have been hurt by strayed bullets from celebrations this year and four people lost their lives in the last two years. So far, a new action for collecting illegally possessed weapons has not been considered.
