ICS local staff founded SRCe.
The Institutional Development Centre (IDC) is an independent, non-governmental organization, founded by the ISC (Institute for Sustainable Communities) local staff. The decision for founding IDC was brought in September 2003. Previously, in the period between 1995, when ISC office in Macedonia was founded, and 2004, ISC was implementing the Programme for Democratic Cooperation, which was financially supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In that period, grants were provided for over 350 civil society organizations and 317 projects implemented in different areas were financially supported.
IDC makes efforts to realize its mission by participating in public, advocating, promoting community development initiatives, strengthening the capacities of the civil society organizations, their role and their mutual cooperation, that is the cooperation between the civil society organizations and other groups of interest. IDC staff has designed, organized and delivered a number of training courses, consulting-services for various development programmes in Macedonia and South-eastern Europe. With their 25 training modules, IDC covers all aspects of good management of every entity – civil society associations, government institutions, private business companies and individuals.
IDC Executive Director, Zoran Stojkovski, showed us some of the projects that IDC is currently working on. These are: the USAID programme for strengthening the Roma NGO capacities and the Roma business community, the programme with OSCE donations – Volunteers in Action – promoting the volunteering in the local communities. At the NGO Fair, IDC promoted SRCe – Skopje Resource Centre. SRCe is an office in the centre of the city, which functions as functional and completely equipped place for organizing training courses and conferences with up to 25 participants.
