1 December: International AIDS Day

The first day of December is dedicated to the fight against AIDS – one of the most dangerous diseases in today’s world. It is a day when governments and the civil sector warn on the danger, the need for prevention and protection of the rights of the sick people.


Scientific exhibition

An interesting scientific exhibition will be opened at the French Cultural Centre in Skopje on “Water, bet and research”. The exhibition refers to the water, one of the natural resources which are threatened in the today’s world.


3 December: Day of the Handicapped

December the 3rd is traditionally dedicated to the handicapped people. This days calls for practicing their rights, but it is also a day when all citizens are reminded to show their solidarity for all handicapped everyday, not only on this date.


3-5 December: NGO Fair

This year’s traditional NGO Fair will take place at the Skopje Fair, like last year. “Eurointegration and Macedonia” – is the title this year and the focus-country is Slovenia. The Fair will consist of an exhibition, forum and a cultural-entertaining segment.

10 December: Human Rights Day

The Human Rights Day is dedicated to all people in the world who do not enjoy their rights of a healthy, safe and secure life. This day calls for fight against violence, intolerance, racism and other forms that threaten the people’s rights.


13 December: Lecture on geopolitics

A lecture on “geopolitics” will take place ate at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Skopje, starting at 7 p.m. The lecturer, Jacque Atali is a politician, writer and a musician. The event is organized by the French Cultural Centre.

20 December: International Day of Biodiversity

The day dedicated to the biodiversity calls for protection of the biological diversity in the whole world. Today, when as a consequence of the wars, air-pollution and degradation of the environment, the flora and fauna species are rapidly disappearing; the governments and the civic sector should take wide actions for maintaining the biodiversity.
