Civil Society Organization “Happy Life”
Building trust in the region of Tetovo
The civil society organization “Happy Life” from Tetovo was established in December 2001. Its members are 45 activists of various nationalities, sex and age – pedagogues, psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, professors and students. Some of the organizations that are active within are the Youth Active, the Women Active and the Environmental Active.
Until December 2004, the “Happy Life” organization was member of the European Centre for Youth Issues, and starting from January 2005, it has become part of the “NGO Associations Network” from Tetovo.
“Peace, love and happiness for everybody” – is the vision of this organization, which, so far, realize a number of projects, such as: “Together for a better tomorrow” – psychosocial support to the internally displaced individuals during the military conflict; “Building trust in the region of Tetovo” – workshops for overcoming stereotypes and prejudices; Education for reducing the violence” – seminars designed for primary school teachers; “Developing the children’s creativity” – creative workshops.
However, the most significant project of this organization was the one called “ I, the citizen, face to face with my parliament representative”, whose main goal was to establish communication between the citizens and the Parliament representatives, and its main activities were the joint tribunes of the citizens and the MPs and placing boxes where citizens were able to leave their questions to the MPs.
The Parliament representatives of the region opened offices for cooperation with the citizens, and the whole project was supported by the European Commission Delegation.
As a partner, the organization took part in the realization of several projects, among which “Needs and possibilities for entrepreneurship”, “Stop to the drugs”, “Dialogue in the community”, “The road to coexistence”, etc.
In the future, “Happy Life” is planning to work more in the area of human rights, that is on the family violence prevention, as well as with the victims of this type of violence, especially the children. They are planning to carry out educational seminars, workshops, training courses and activities for promoting the environment and the cultural life of the young people in the region of Tetovo.
