Municipality NGO support office from PROBISTIP
Cooperation between the municipality and the civil sector
The NGO support office from Probistip is an expression of cooperation between the municipality and the civil society organizations. The Municipality of Probistip opened the office in February 2006. Since the opening, the need of it has been increasing constantly. The proof of that is the increasing number of visits to the office by civil society activists who use the services that it provides.
The office provides access to the internet, consultations for project preparation, organizational strengthening, access to donors. Since the beginning, the office, in cooperation with the civil society organizations, has formulated four projects; seven meetings with civil society organizations have taken place to discuss the organizational strengthening and three workshops have been organized on managing a project cycle, volunteering and access to donors.
The office has prepared the plan for 2007. The activists are taking steps for the office to grow into a center. So far, their main priority will remain improving the equipment the organizations use.
