Silent auction
For bigger smile in pyjamas
On 18 January 2008, at the art saloon in Veles, the foundation “Focus” organized a silent auction of 31 donated works of art (oil on canvas, graphics, dry needle, aquarelle, ceramics, etc) as part of the project called “Smile in pyjamas”. The works were done by 21 top artists from Veles, Skopje, Prilep, Ohrid and Caska. The youngest donors were two talented children from the town. Half of the works were sold and 68 400 denars were raised. The owner of the company “Joldash dooel” who bought a work that reached the price of 20 000 denars, was declared the best donor of the evening. The rest of the works were sold the throughout the following week.
The goal of the project is to raise money that would help equip the Children ward at the city hospital in Veles, that would lead to improving the ambient for the children who stay there. Previously, a humanitarian sport event was organized called “The sport legends from Macedonia against the sports legends from Veles” (money was raised from selling the tickets although the event was not originally part of the programme) and a New Year event organized by the young girl Andrijana Dimitrievska who promoted the book Life is…” (organized on her initiative)
The money raised from the book sale was donated to the children ward. Money is also raised from the safes placed at the shops throughout the town and from direct donations from the business sector. The company “Vemed” gave up making their own promotional materials and donated the money planned for that purpose, and the company “Ljadro M” donated a TV.
