The strategy for cooperation between the government and the civil sector finally adopted

After a year’s work, workshops, consultations and other activities of the Government’s Department for Cooperation with the NGO, technically supported by the EAR project “Technical support to the Civil Society Department at the Government” and implemented by the COWI and MCIC Consortium, the Strategy for Cooperation between the Government and the civil sector was finally adopted. The activities were realized in cooperation with a lot of actors, both from the state and the civil sector. After the numerous attacks by the Government and some media regarding the civil sector’s work, the question remains whether the adoption of the strategy means that things will move in a positive direction. The adoption of the strategy itself is a sign of the Government’s intention to improve the environment for civil sector’s operation. Only together we can surmount the gaps and the lack of trust.

Will the cooperation on paper be realized in practice? Will the society benefit from the activities of both? Let us hope that finally, we will have a more fruitful and generally better cooperation.

This month, we are celebrating a small jubilee. “Civic World” is marking six years of its existence. For six years it has been in the function of informing and educating. “Civic World”, as the only magazine of the civil society in Macedonia, has informed in the past six years on the civil society organizations’ activities, as well as on other events regarding the civil society in the country and abroad. It contributed to the development of the civil society and to the changes in the understanding and deepening of the term “civil society”.

“Civic World” remains as it is; we will try to improve it even more, keep it in the service of our readers and the civil society in general for many more years.
