Doverba” has marked its jubilee

Ten years of action

 

The Association for promotion of healing, rehabilitation and re-socialization of people who abuse drugs and other psychotropic substances, “Doverba” from Skopje, marked its 10-year existence on 17 November this year. Throughout the years, the organization put unselfish efforts in the field of prevention of drug abuse.

In 1997, they received a donation from the Know-How Fund and the British Government for the apparatus for the Centre for Prevention and Treatment for Drug Abuse in Kisela Voda. . In 2001, with financial support from the MCIC, the “Doverba” office was opened, where a number of activities have been implemented, such as info-line, counseling, education and psycho-education, creative workshops, etc. In 200, the Association took part in the working group that prepared a joint project of the Ministry of Health, SZO and UNICEF for the decentralization of services for prevention and treatment of drug abuse of the City of Skopje. In 2003, “Doverba” became a member of the National Coordinative Body for HIV/AIDS Prevention and it participated in the preparation of the national strategy for HIV/AIDS prevention in Macedonia. In 2004/2005, with support from the Agency for Young and Sports, it realized the project called “youth Counseling”, where, through psycho-educational workshop, directions are given for prevention and emergency intervention in cases of alcohol and drugs abuse.
