A project of EA “Vila Zora” and Veles municipality

Towards the Local agenda 21 for Veles municipality

The environmental association “Vila Zora” together with Veles municipality has realized the project “Towards the Local agenda 21 for Veles municipality”. The project is financially supported by the Macedonian Office of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe (REC). The project has been carried out as part of the National and Regional Grants Programme for civil society organizations working in the field of sustainable development in the western Balkans. The Local agenda 21 for Veles municipality has been made by the Town Committee, consisting of 22 local government representatives, the business-sector, the institutions and the civil sector.

After the community sustainable development evaluation had been completed, the Committee prepared the document “Analysis and evaluation of the community”, besides which, the Committee will design the “community vision”, together with designing the new strategic plan, and it will determine and categorize the priorities into five groups: local economic development, social care, health and education, protection and promotion of the environment, town planning and local democratic development. The project-coordinator is Biljana Surkova – Manaskova.
