10-th National Pensioners’ Sport Games have taken place
 

This year in October, for the 10th time in a row, the traditional National Pensioners’ Sport Games took place by the lake Mladost. The oganizer of the games is the Union of Macedonian Pensioners Associations (UMPO_, under the patronage of the Macedonian Prime Minister, Mr. Vlado Buckovski. At the final games, 299 competitors from 33 organizations took part. One of the most interesting games were: pulling a rope, playing chess, domino, archery, piccado, etc. The games were announced open be the Prime Minister, Vlado Buckovski, and the reception was given by the Veles Mayor, Ace Kocevski. “By doing these sports, the pensioners keep fit, relax themselves, socialize, renew old friendships and make new ones. When playing, they inform each other on the typical pensioners’ problems and issues”, said Andon Markovski, vice-president of the UMPO Executive Committee.
