Peace Unlimited Festival

Say no to the trigger

This year’s Peace Unlimited Festival, which the civil society organization “Civil” organizes for seven years in a row, was opened at the Youth Cultural Centre in Skopje with the projection of the documentary “My first shot”. The motto of the festival, that took place from 25 to 28 October, was “Put your finger on the guitar cord, not on the trigger!”. It was chosen as a proof that the music, painting, theater and literature are the universal language that overcomes all violence and destruction.

“The art, the socializing and the fun are the alternatives to death and destruction”, “Civil” members point out. The Peace Unlimited Festival offered Skopje inhabitants an opportunity to say “no” to the violence through the concert of Benny and the band “Non-stop”, through the projection of the films “Mirage” and “Croatia (end) heaven of the Earth”,

The Macedonian bands “Muger Fuger” and “White noise in a white room”, as well as the band “Inbus” from Kosovo, took part in the action for putting an end to the violence. Special day was dedicated to the children programme – part of the children festival day was the play called “Bang, bang, you’re dead”.
