CVP - Common Vision Project
Conflict resolution, peace building

The CVP - Common Vision Project, as a WSP International branch (War-torn Societies Project - WSP International) has been implementing its activities since March, last year. The Association used this period to implement the first phase of the research in Macedonia through the realization of the following activities: field research in 15 regions in the Republic of Macedonia; research of the Macedonian political reality through meetings with the political parties; research of the international Macedonian political reality through foreign factors present in the country.
These researches resulted with focusing on five priority sectors in the further CVP work and in the creation of the future projects. Those priorities are: political relations, economic and social relations, human rights, interethnic and intercultural relations, regional and international cooperation and gender relations.
This organization was established with the UN recommendation and it has existed since 1996. The headquarters of the association is in Geneva, Switzerland. The team in Macedonia, led by PhD. Ferid Muhic consists of 12 young people.
Starting from the general WSP International priorities (which works in cooperation with both, the United Nations and the local partners and representatives from ethnic groups where it is present), CVP Macedonia works for conflict resolution and sustainable peace building. It helps the war-torn societies to create a sustainable peace, and it does it through consultations, researches and analyses with all sectors of the society and with the international aid agencies. CVP Macedonia is guided by the motto that a sustainable peace can only be accomplished if it is supported by all parties/sides involved in the conflict and only if it is based on understanding, trust and mutual vision for the future, and not in a forceful manner. It is accomplished through the model of participation in order to make it possible for all participants in the process to identify the mutual challenges and bring common solution.
CVP Macedonia also works with the international community. It is financially supported by several western European countries (Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland), as well as Canada, USA, Japan and through its partnership with the United Nations it cooperates with several programme - UNDPA (United Nations Department for Political Affairs), UNOCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs), UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund).

Hand in hand
Several weeks ago, I was one of the participants from Macedonia at the "NGO Days" in Zagreb. Even before I had seen the manifestation, I was wondering what will it be like, will it be different from our NGO Fair "Forum of the Civil Society in Macedonia" that took place at the end of October last year, organized by the MCIC, OSIMF, ISC and CRS. We were together at this manifestation, and, from what we had seen, we could be proud to be better organizers.

Independently, more coordinately and more aim-oriented
During the society transformation into pluralistic democracy, at the beginning of the ‘90s, one of the heralds of the new system was the appearance of a large number of non-governmental organizations dealing with women issues. Together with the ones, which had been formed in any shape by the former system, this large number of new women non-governmental organizations created a good basis for eventually solving the issues of the women’s social status.
