Let’s find Tose in ourselves

The day of 16 October dawned with the horrible news that our Tose Proeski was killed in a car accident in Croatia. After his death, together with all electronic media “playing” his music intensively, a series of reflections on his life and work were given. At the end of such television debate a very strong message, in my opinion, was sent to the auditorium: “Let’s find Tose in ourselves”.

But what exactly should we look for? The thing that made Tose a music star, his extraordinary musical talent and angel voice have unanimously been proclaimed rare and unrepeatable. His faith in God maybe?

Religion is a persuasion related to the environment (and the time) we grew up and were educated at. Getting close to these two dimensions depends on how each of us is “tailored”.

What we can certainly look for to link us to Tose is not a question of talent and faith in God, but much more, it is a question of desire and labor. A desire through ones own unselfish engagement and constant donation of love to help where it is necessary so that the world and our Macedonia can be seen as a better place to live. His mission can exactly be identified as a mission of the civic sector and Tose’s efforts can directly be related to the values that the civil society organizations should promote.

Tose’s great human dimension was something he was not obliged to but he was committed to the desire to help the ones in need. Each of us certainly has that part of Tose and we can find it in ourselves. His love towards people and power for forgiveness is a model of how misunderstandings can be overcome. Education and the strong will to succeed is also something that people, especially youngsters, can learn.

Tose Proeski presented his virtuous upbringing everywhere, every time and to everyone. He said “no” to all vices that lurk young people, he showed how to love, respect and promote his homeland…

So many other things can be said about his virtues.

They themselves were the ones that lit his road and when we want “to find Tose in ourselves”, we know what we need to look for, as these values certainly smolder in everyone, we should only activate them according to his example.
