Project of UNESCO and Hewlit Packard

Together against the “export of brains”

UNESCO and the American computer giant “Hewlit Packard” are going to carry out a project for stopping the “export of brains” from Albania and Macedonia and establishing mutual connections between the universities in the South East Europe. UNESCO is planning to relate the universities in Tirana and Skopje through a computer technology as part of a project worth 60 million dollars, started in 2003.

The project includes five universities in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro.

“In the past ten years, the countries from SEE suffered from the emigration of about 70 percent of the well-trained professionals under 40 years of age which disturbed the scientific researches and the capacities for academic education in a number of universities”, says the announcement of the project organizers.
