Youth Leadership Conferences
Beat the unknown – get to now the others
The Center for Managing Conflicts (CMK), in cooperation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) – Monitoring Mission in Skopje, organized the fourth in a row seminar for managing conflicts and leadership skills that took place from 27 to 27 January this year. The Seminar is part of the project “Beat the unknown – get to know the others”. It included young people from the high schools in Kumanovo.
The goal of these seminars is to reduce the interethnic tensions and to eliminate the culture of violence among the young people in Macedonia by providing new practical skills for peace and non-violent conflict management.
The seminars have already been held at the high schools in Struga, Skopje and Tetovo. Participants at the advanced conference will be the best participants from all previous seminars.
After the seminars have finished, the participants will be given the chance to organize similar activities at their schools themselves. The activities will be managed and supported by the Center for Managing Conflicts.
This project is financed by OSCE, the Council of Europe and the Ministry of Education and Science, and supported by the high schools in the country.
